Lannyte most closely resembles a diamond. In fact, without performing a specific gravity test or examination under a high-powered microscope, even accredited gemologists have difficulty recognizing that Lannyte simulated diamonds are not natural!

Moissonite is also a lab-grown simulated diamond. Most professionals agree about its inclusions and off color appearance.  In addition, moissonite is priced like a natural diamond.  Lannyte’s refractive index (that which gives stones their sparkle) is closest to a natural diamond.  Like diamonds, Lannyte is singly refractive, whereas Moissonite has a double refractive index.
